Posted by Wednesday afternoon & I found myself at Beetle Juice cafe off Hollywood Boulevard waiting to be checked in. There’s a huge line at the door of men & women with backpacks, suitcases, & wagons of camera equipment. I’m given my wristband & I climb the stairs, greeted by a sign that reads “STREET MOB TOUR 2024” with a picture of Chino Pacas, Calle 24, & Clave Especial front & center.
The press conference for this tour was set to be a few hours long, I had charged all my equipment just in case things ran a little longer. As we all know, with artists & LA traffic you don’t know when things will actually start. Shoutout to Bobby Dee & Street Mob Records for having everything be right on time though! I set up my tripod, placed my phone in the holder, & proceeded to wait for the conference to begin.
Street Mob Records was founded by Jesus Ortiz Paz, better known as JOP of Fuerza Regida. He started off by signing writers to his label & later on began to develop these talents as artists since that is usually how he discovered them. These artists would work to organically gain a huge caliber fan base of their own, & it would only be a matter of time before JOP would properly introduce them to the world either on a song or on stage.
The Street Mob Tour of 2024 consists of headliners Chino Pacas, Calle 24, & Clave Especial, alongside special guests Juanpa Salazar, Tiagz, Jonatan Caro, Linea Personal, & Armenta. The tour consisting of 8 dates begins in Houston, Texas and ends in San Jose, California this coming November. This was their announcement to the media, as well as a small taste of what was to come for all these talents within the coming weeks.
TikTokers & Podcast hosts introduced & interviewed each artist to the media that sat before them. These artists are seasoned to this a little already, what is new to them is this tour. Having so many acts together on one tour everyone had the similar questions, ‘Are you excited?’ ‘Are you nervous?’ “What can fans expect?” ‘Will you collaborate with any of the artists that will be joining you?’
The answer to all those questions to be short & sweet was, yes. Each act was super excited, very grateful for the opportunity, & couldn’t wait to visit different cities. Since they would all be traveling together they said collaborations are bound to happen, & of course, they each took a moment to shoutout Street Mob Records & thank JOP.
JOP arrived to close out the conference, all of Street Mob standing proudly behind him. He stated how proud he was of all the acts, especially Chino Pacas, Calle 24, & Clave Especial who are the main headliners. He closed out with an encouraging speech to the acts, “This is the test, this tour a test to see what you guys are made of. From here, all of you can make it, or only one of you can make it.”
